MetaInverse

A symbolic portrait created for Rene S., the first collector of ParadigmStories, moving from physical drawing into digital composition and animation.

A tribute to the first collector

MetaInverse was conceived as more than a conventional portrait. It combines a hand-drawn foundation with Photoshop and After Effects to represent a particular moment in Rene’s journey through Web3 and the metaverse.

Three principal elements structure the work: a CryptoPunk, Rene’s avatar and a chameleon. Together they address identity, adaptability and the shifting relationship between physical and digital selves.

A bridge in the practice

The work is an early example of a process that later became central to ParadigmStories: a physical drawing continuing into a moving digital state without abandoning the original object. This relationship between material drawing and digital transformation would later expand through animation, phygital works and augmented reality.

Archive note
This museum record preserves the work’s collector relationship and its role in the transition from physical drawing to animated digital practice.
